Why Created...
The idea for this product was born in the late 1990s when working in the financial markets. As an avid gum chewer working in this professional environment, I realized that there was no gum disposal solution that I could discretely and easily use.
Throughout the trading floor and desks, I noticed that most members were focused on their trading activities and little time left for other matters. Gum chewing became an essential part of people’s lives since most specialists, brokers, clerks and NYSE personnel communicated constantly throughout the day with one another. Gum served people in different facets; some chewed it for pleasure, others for clean breath, while still others needed gum as a way to calm down those nervous reactions, especially at the opening of hectic trading days. I instantly recognized that gum was a necessity for all people including guests. Oral hygiene was an important factor throughout the day and chewing gum was the fastest and best solution.
As I continued doing more
research and examining individual’s behavior with
gum, I quickly learned that chewing gum was becoming more fashionable
and acceptable within our society.
Individuals of all ages were chewing gum all the time.
People who worked out at the gym were chewing, people attending
meetings had gum, and people who fly regularly prepared themselves with
several packets of gum to relieve ear pressure.
I discovered that gum is an essential part of people’s lives and
we are accustomed to using it on a regular basis.
I also discovered that with gum chewing increasing in popularity,
all individuals who chewed gum needed a solution to dispose of it.
Individuals were looking for ways of properly disposing their
gum. Having that piece of
paper when you really need it was an important element of gum chewing
