*      North American kids spend about a half-billion dollars on bubble gum every year, which translates to 40 million pieces every day, 1.6 million every hour, 26,000 every minute or 444 pieces per second causing chewing gum litter to be a real problem.

*    Chewing gum does not break down, even over a period of time.  So, when gum is discarded improperly on concrete pavement, carpeting or furniture, the substance accumulates and is extremely difficult to remove.  

*    There is a global trend toward recycling and individual responsibility.

*    Recent studies show that gum chewers, public entities and private businesses are seeking better methods of gum disposal. 

*    Prevention has been identified as the best method of proper disposal. Companies and individuals prefer being proactive vs. reactive when it comes to preserving their investments.
